Types of Indonesian Visas
Indonesian visas are divided into the following types, based on the purpose and duration of your trip:

  • Tourist Visa (Embassy and On Arrival)
  • Multiple-entry Visa
  • Business Visa
  • Limited Stay Visa

Documents Needed for an Indonesia Visa Application
When you apply for an Indonesia visa, you must have several documents which support your application. The Indonesia visa requirements differ depending on the visa that you are applying for.

How to Apply for an Indonesia Visa?
You can apply for an Indonesia visa in one of the following ways:

How Long Does It Take to Process an Indonesian Visa?
It takes about 3 – 5 working days for the Indonesian Embassy/Consulate to process your visa application. Still, the processing time depends on the specific diplomatic mission where you are applying as well as the application method. If you apply by mail, it will take longer for you to receive the visa due to the mailing time.

If you are from the following countries, the processing time will be longer since the Embassy/Consulate has to request permission from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jakarta:

  • Afghanistan

  • Niger
  • Nigeria
  • North Korea

Indonesia Visa Fees
The Indonesia Visa fees are as follows:

  • Single-entry Tourist Visa: USD 50
  • Multiple-entry Tourist/Visit/Business Visa: USD 100
  • Limited Stay Visa:
  • Six months: USD 50
  • One year: USD 90
  • Two years: USD 160
  • Visa on Arrival: USD 35

How to pay the Indonesia visa fee?
There isn’t a single acceptable way to pay the Indonesia visa fee. This will depend on what Embassy or Consulate you are applying, and whether you’re applying by mail or in person. Luckily, the Indonesian Embassies/Consulates have instructions about the payment method on their websites. Sometimes you have to purchase a Money Order, and other times you can pay via your Credit or Debit Card.

What Is the Duration of an Indonesia Visa?
The validity of a Tourist Visa for Indonesia is 30 days and for a single entry. This type of visa can be extended for another 30 days before expiration.

Visas on Arrival are also valid for 30 days and extendable.

A multiple-entry Indonesia visa is valid for one year. You cannot stay longer than 60 days on each entry.

Limited stay visas are issued for six months, one year, or two years. If you are from one of the countries with visa exemption, you can enter Indonesia without a visa and stay up to 30 days as well (same as with VOA or tourist visa), but you cannot apply for an extension!

Indonesia Visa for US Citizens
If you are a US citizen, you do not need a visa for Indonesia. You need only your passport (which has to be valid for another six months) and a return or onward ticket. You can stay in Indonesia without a visa for up to 30 days. Make sure you don’t overstay because you will have to pay a fine when you depart.

If you want to stay in Indonesia for longer than 30 days, you have to get a visa. You can either get it at one of the Visa On Arrival counters at the airport or you can apply from an Indonesian Embassy/Consulate in the US. The Visa on Arrival will also be valid for 30 days, but you can extend it before it expires, and you get another 30 days. You are not allowed to extend your stay in Indonesia if you initially entered without a visa.

Is Indonesia visa free for Pakistan?
Maximum stay refers to the number of days allowed on a single visit. Indonesia visa for citizens of Pakistan is required.

How much is the visa for Indonesia from Pakistan 2023?

The applicant is required to submit the documents accompanied by the Visa Application form at the consular counter of Indonesian Embassy Islamabad. It can be done so on Monday to Wednesday from 09:30 am to 11:30 am. The fee for the Multiple Entry Visa is 50 USD.

The passport to be issued for the visit to Bali should have an expiry date at least 6 months from the date you reach the island. If you are travelling to Bali for less than 30 days then you do not need a visa.

Can a Pakistani visit Indonesia?
Do Pakistanis Need a Visa for Indonesia? If you are a Pakistan passport holder wishing to visit the country, you are required to obtain a visa for travel. To visit for tourist purposes, this means you’ll need to gain sponsorship from a person in Indonesia before you visit.

How long does it take to get visa for Indonesia from Pakistan?
Certain applications visa, such as for working, journalist, studying or living in Indonesia and other applications that need a special permit from the Immigration Office in Indonesia can take up to two months before a decision is made and the visa granted. Visa that has been issued is valid for 90 days.

HOLIDAY or TOURISM
This visa is applicable for nationals of countries not included in the list of 169 countries that are eligible for Visa on Arrival. Apart from for the purpose of holiday and visiting tourist attractions in Indonesia, it is also valid for exploring the possibility for cooperation in developing tourism industry in Indonesia and for handling foreign tourist to Indonesia.

Requirements:

  • Visa application forms to be filled in block letter/typed, personally signed by the applicant.
    Two colour passport-size photographs.
  • The original passport with photocopies of page 1-3 and previous Indonesian visas.
  • Photocopy of national identity card of the passport bearer. In case of under 18 years, please attach ‘B’ form.
  • Evidence that you have adequate funds for your personal support during your stay in Indonesia e.g. Bank statements, letter from your financial institution concerning your financial position.
  • Proof of availability of a return ticket or ticket for forward journey, with photocopies.
  • Valid proof of confirmed of hotel booking in Indonesia would be preferable for the consideration of granting of visa.
  • Request visa letter from your employer/office addressing visa officer, mentioning your job, duration of service and detail of visit purpose. In case of businessmen, please attach your business documents (national tax number certificate and firm registration certificate or export registration certificate).
  • The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia reserves the right to request additional documents if needed.

SOCIAL AND CULTURE VISA

This visa is valid for visits that are social, cultural, religious, or medical in nature. This includes visiting family/relatives and social organizations, and exchange visits between academic, art, or sports institutions.

Requirements:

  • Visa application form to be filled in block letter/typed, personally signed by the applicant.
  • Two colour passport-size photographs
  • The original passport with photocopies of page 1-3 and previous Indonesian visas.
  • Photocopy of national identity card of the passport bearer. In case of under 18 years, please attach ‘B’ form.
  • Evidence that you have adequate funds for your personal support during your stay in Indonesia eg. Bank Statements, letter from your financial institution concerning your financial position.
  • Proof of availability of a return ticket or ticket for forward journey, with photocopies.
  • Invitation and Guarantee letter from the host/sponsor in Indonesia (for international sports, events), from the family/relatives in Indonesia (for family visit: Marriage Registration Certificate, NIC/KTP of sponsor, Family Card of Sponsor (Kartu Keluarga).
  • Request letter from your employer/office addressing visa officer, mentioning your job, duration of service and detail of visit purpose. In case of businessmen, please attach your business documents (national tax number certificate and firm registration certificate or export registration certificate).
  • The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia reserves the right to request additional documents if needed.

BUSINESS VISA

This visa is valid for the purposes of doing business activities in Indonesia, which do not involve taking up employment or acquiring money for payments of services. It is valid for conducting a temporary business assignment, i.e. inspecting company subsidiaries and carrying out emergency/urgent works. It is also valid for attending international conferences and seminars visits.

Requirements:

  • Visa application form to be block letter/typed, personally signed by the applicant.
  • Two colour passport-size photographs
  • The original passport with photocopies of page 1-3 and previous Indonesian visas.
  • Photocopy of national identity card of the passport bearer.
  • Request letter from your employer/office addressing visa officer, mentioning your job, duration of service and detail of visit purpose. (Please attach your business documents (national tax number certificate and firm registration certificate or export registration certificate).
  • Letter of invitation from Indonesian companies, detail with business dealing with Indonesian company, and letter from company being represented by applicant. Please attach your business documents e.g. Copy of national tax number certificate and firm registration certificate or export registration certificate.
  • Evidence that you have adequate funds for your personal support during your stay in Indonesia e.g. Bank statements, letter from your financial institution concerning your financial position.
  • Proof of availability of a return ticket or ticket for forward journey.
  • Letter of Recommendation from Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CC&I).
  • The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia reserves the right to request additional documents if needed.​
